Steria was appointed to provide structural advice and the necessary reports relating to the tower’s stonework and bell frame, together with assessment and design input for the supporting structure for a new flagpole. We also managed the required application and approval processes to enable the works to proceed.

The work included low- and high-level access inspections of the external stonework, allowing us to compile a schedule of repair works and establish the need for, and extent of, future repairs. We also carried out a detailed review and inspection of the bell frame.

For the new flagpole, we managed intrusive investigations to establish the most appropriate support method, together with the necessary design calculations and drawings. We also managed the required Listed Building applications and Historic England approval, liaising with relevant third parties to secure the necessary consents.
